Her research interests focus on the basin structure and basin-mountain coupling analysis, reconstruction of the paleotectonic and paleogeography, comprehensive evaluation of hydrocarbon prospectivity, prediction of lithologic traps and reservoirs and optimization of the oil and gas exploration targets. Her field research includes projects in the Tarim basin, Bohai Bay basin and Qiangtang basin in China and Muglad basin in Sudan. She also studies paleoseismicity (seismites).
