Main research fields: Petrology. The major research direction is the metamorphism and metamorphic evolution of metamorphic rocks, and their relationship with the evolution of orogenic belts and regional geology. He has directed and participated in 5 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, more than 10 geological survey projects, participated in 1 project of 973 Program, and a number of other projects. He has an extensive research interest with research areas involving the Precambrian metamorphic basement and metamorphic evolution, metamorphic evolution, metamorphic rock facies equilibrium calculation and metamorphic evolution of western Kunlun orogenic belt and tectonic and the Central Asian orogenic belt. At present, the main research areas are Xinjiang, Western Kunlun, Southern China, Zhejiang, Fujian and Jiangxi provinces and Alashan region.
