Main research fields: Long term study on porphyry Cu-Mo-Au deposits. In recent years, as the project leader, he is in charge of many projects related to porphyry Cu-Mo-Au deposits in national key R & D projects, the Ministry of Land and Resources industry research projects, the National Natural Science Foundation, national basic research program 973 project etc. In recent years, he has mainly engaged in porphyry copper deposits and gold deposits research, mainly achieving the following progress: (1) analyze in detail the collision orogenic porphyry Cu-Mo ore deposit of Qulong and Tinggong in Tibet, Na Gegoma in Qinghai, discovered geological characteristics, the formation mechanism of these deposits, while put forward the new mechanism of ore bearing porphyry rich water, co founded the collision orogenic porphyry copper metallogenic model, improved the porphyry copper metallogenic theory; (2) through nearly 5 years of research on Inner Mongolia Albert, identified: a new type of gold deposit---magma type of gold, and put forward the model of magmatic genesis of gold deposits. Fellow of SEG (International Economic Geology Society) and editorial board member of Mineral Deposit Geology.
